World War Three-

A Poem for anyone struggling with mental health!

The war

If I lose a couple pounds

The boys all seem to notice me

The girls tell me I’m pretty

And my mother starts to worry

If I compare myself to them

I’ll never be enough

There’s never much self-love

No never enough

Don’t judge a book by its cover

But reading it takes too much time

the pretty girl seems just fine

But there’s a lot going on inside

Way too much going on inside

So, let’s slow down

Forget the beauty standards

Hey are you okay

do you feel you’ve lost all power

You’re going down a deep hole

And I found World war three

going on inside of you

Deep inside of you

the anorexia isn’t listening

As the Mental health is slipping

the chronic Illness is thriving

Doesn’t it sound exciting

It's so exciting

World war three

Has chosen multiple arenas

And is managing to stay hidden

While spreading between us

If he just cuts up his arm

Then the voices might be quite

he feels like a better person

And he can find some solace

if he opens up about it

he feels lots of guilt and shame

People start to doubt him

he begins to feel insane

Don’t judge a book by its cover

But reading it takes too much time

the valedictorian seems just fine

But there’s a lot going on inside

Way too much going on inside

So let’s slow down

Forget societies standards

Hey are you okay

do you feel you’ve lost all power

Going down a deep hole

I found World War Three

going on inside of you

Deep inside of you

the anxiety is crippling

As the Mental health is slipping

the depression is thriving

Doesn’t it sound exciting

It’s so exciting

World war three

Has chosen multiple arenas

And is managing to stay hidden

While spreading between us
